Richmond Plumbers You Can Count On

Hot water that has gone lukewarm, a toilet that blocks again a week after it was cleared, water marks appearing on a ceiling below. These are the calls we get, and what people want is simple: a plumber who finds the real cause and fixes it.

Years on these streets have taught us that a repeat blockage in a unit block is rarely one household’s fault. Urgent jobs get a plumber typically within the hour. They find the cause, write a fixed quote with your options, and wait for your yes.

Our Promise

Our Word to Richmond Homes & Businesses

Co-owners Michael Heinrich and Colin Archer-Bourke went into business together after years of watching customers get burned by no-shows, vague quotes and repairs that did not last. Their answer was simple: turn up when you say you will, price the job before you touch it, and guarantee the workmanship for life. From two mates with a van, Adelaide Expert Plumbing & Gas has grown into a team of six with more than 260 five-star Google reviews.

Richmond gives that promise plenty to do. A leak in an older home can sit on the far side of a shared wall, and a workshop on Reese Avenue needs its amenities working before the shift starts. We explain what we find in plain terms and work to AS/NZS 3500 for water and AS 5601 for gas. When a bigger job needs to be spread out, you can pay it off over time through Humm. Terms and conditions apply, and the team will talk you through the options. Honest pricing, careful work and a workmanship guarantee that lasts.

Our Services

Plumbing Services for Richmond Homes, Units, Workshops & Shops

Richmond packs a wide mix of property into a small area. It has older homes built side by side, newer medium-density streets and plenty of flats, all within a few blocks of a football ground, a primary school and a genuine light industrial precinct. That spread shapes the work here: a strata report on a blocked unit toilet, a staff amenities fault in a warehouse off Deacon Avenue, a new bath in an older home’s rear addition. Each one is quoted onsite at a fixed price before we start.

General Plumbing

Leaking taps, noisy pipes and failed washing machine hoses in Richmond houses, townhouses and units. We diagnose it, quote it onsite and usually fix it in the same visit.

Blocked Drains

Rear additions on older homes here often sit at the end of a long run with extra junctions. We jet and clear the blockage, then camera the line to show you why it happened.

Hot Water Systems

Units and homes that share a wall rarely have room for a bigger tank, so replacements have to suit the space. We repair what is worth repairing and supply new hot water systems that fit.

24/7 Emergency Plumbing

A burst pipe in a block of flats or a blocked sewer in a workshop cannot wait for Monday. The phone is answered at every hour, every day of the year.

Taps & Toilets

Worn tap washers, dripping mixers and cisterns that never stop filling, in homes, rentals and staff amenities. Small jobs done tidily and priced before we start.

Backflow Testing

Workshops and warehouses around Deacon and Reese Avenues can need a hazard assessment and a testable device at the boundary to protect the drinking water supply. We assess, install and test backflow devices for new and changing tenancies.

Leak Detection

In a home that shares a wall, or a unit block, water often shows up next door or downstairs before it shows up at the source. We trace the leak without opening walls on guesswork.

Blocked Toilets

A toilet backing up in a Richmond unit usually means a shared line, and the strata manager will want to know why. We clear it and give you a written report to pass on.

Bathtub Installation

In many of Richmond's older homes the bathroom sits in a later rear addition. We fit new baths with the waste and water run properly to suit.

Why us

Why Richmond Homeowners, Tenants & Businesses Choose Us

Most of our 260+ five-star Google reviews are pleasantly boring. A plumber rang ahead, arrived in the window, did what the quote said for the price the quote said, and swept up. Nobody writes a novel about a tap washer, and that is fine by us.

What makes Richmond different is how often one job touches several parties. A blocked stack in a unit block concerns the owner, the tenant and the strata manager; a burst line in a home that shares a wall can show up next door first; a workshop tenant needs the landlord’s approval before we open a wall. We write up what we found so each of them can act on it, and we plan commercial work around shifts and trading. The price is agreed onsite, and we are available 24/7 when it cannot wait.

Where we service

Servicing Richmond & the Surrounding Area

Richmond’s edges are easy to picture because three of them are main roads, and each has a different suburb on the far kerb. Richmond Road forms the southern boundary, with Marleston opposite, and the shopping centre there with Richmond in its name is actually on the Marleston side. Marion Road is the western edge, where the far side is West Richmond, and South Road runs down the east with Mile End South across it. To the north, Davenport Terrace separates Richmond from Hilton, and the north-western streets back onto Cowandilla. Inside Richmond itself the work takes us from Kingston Avenue, Apollo Circuit and Martin Avenue to the workshops on Deacon Avenue, Reese Avenue and Fleet Street.

Past the South Road and Richmond Road corner we also work in Keswick, home to the primary school that carries Richmond’s name, and a little further on in Ashford. Homes, units and businesses get the same fixed onsite quote wherever the address falls.

FAQs

What Richmond Customers Ask Before Booking

Richmond throws up a few questions of its own, starting with whether an address is Richmond at all. Below are the ones we are asked most, from the old workingmen’s blocks to the workshops off Deacon Avenue. If yours is not here, ring 08 8152 9100 and ask us directly.

Marion Road is the line. From Richmond Road north to the Cowandilla boundary, the eastern side of Marion Road is Richmond and the western side is West Richmond, a separate suburb. It trips people up because several businesses on both sides use the Richmond name, and the pharmacy called Hilton is actually in Richmond.

Often not where you would guess. Much of Richmond was first laid out as large blocks, and most of them were later subdivided again for houses, units and workshops. Drains on land like that have commonly been extended or re-routed as new buildings went up. Before anyone digs, we run a camera through the line and locate it, so you know exactly where it goes and whose property it crosses.

Yes. A toilet that blocks again and again in a unit block is often a shared line rather than your fixture. We clear it, inspect the line with a camera where that is needed, and write up where the problem is and what fixing it involves. That gives the strata manager or owner what they need to approve the work without another visit.

SA Water owns and maintains the sewer network, and the owner is responsible for the pipework on their side of the connection. Plumbers are not permitted to work on SA Water’s infrastructure. If we find the blockage is in the main rather than your private line, we report it to SA Water so they can clear it, and lodge the claim for our part of the work with them.

Our team provides upfront quotes on all jobs before any work begins. Our receptionist unfortunately does not have access to a price book, since their job is to keep the team on schedule, dispatch plumbers to jobs and make sure customers are looked after. So we quote onsite, with multiple options, and you never feel pressured one bit.

In most cases, yes. For urgent jobs we can typically be there within 60 minutes, and we aim for a same day response on everything else. The team works 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 08 8152 9100 and tell us what is going on.

Yes. The streets around Deacon Avenue, Reese Avenue, Fleet Street and Main Terrace are a working light industrial precinct, and the plumbing there is usually about staff amenities, wash-down points, hot water for a lunchroom and water supply to equipment. We quote it onsite, work around your shifts, and give the landlord or property manager a written description if they need to approve it.
