Bathroom Renovations from Your Licensed Adelaide Plumbing Team

A bathroom renovation is four trades in one room. Tilers, electricians, cabinetmakers, and plumbers all have to turn up on the right day, do work that interlocks with everyone else’s, and leave something that will stand up to twenty years of hot showers and Adelaide’s hard water. Most bathroom renos that fail don’t fail because the tiles are ugly. They fail because water finds its way where the waterproofing didn’t.

We’ve spent 15+ years renovating Adelaide bathrooms across every housing era, from the lath-and-plaster inner-east cottages where lead and galvanised pipework hides behind the tiling, to new builds where every rough-in has to be certified before a single tile goes down. Our licensed team (Licence PGE #360928) is plumbing-first. We own the trade that matters most, and we coordinate the rest to the same standard.

Every renovation is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee on all plumbing work, 260+ five-star Google reviews from Adelaide neighbours, compliance certificates for every stage, and our Clean Home Guarantee through the build.

What Actually Matters

The Part of a Bathroom Reno That Matters Most

Bathroom renos fail for one reason more often than any other: waterproofing that wasn’t done to the standard. The tiles look fine for eighteen months, and then the neighbouring bedroom wall develops a damp patch that never dries out. By the time anyone opens up the wall, the damage has been compounding for months.

A kitchen reno is mostly about cabinetry and appearance. A bathroom reno is about sealing water out of your home’s structure. The bit under the tiles is the bit that has to be right, and that’s the bit that gets rushed on renos run by builders who don’t do the plumbing in-house.

We do the plumbing in-house under Licence PGE #360928. It’s the core of what we do, not a subcontracted afterthought.

The Stages

Your Bathroom Renovation Stage by Stage

A full bathroom renovation in an Adelaide home typically takes three to six weeks start to finish. Here’s what happens between signing off on the design and walking into the finished room.

Stage 1 – Design and quote. Site visit, measurements, discussion of how you use the space, structural considerations, and a detailed written quote with allowances for fixtures, tiles, and tapware.

Stage 3 – First-fix services. The invisible work that determines whether the bathroom will last. Hot and cold supply rough-in, drainage with correct falls, vent connections, electrical cables, and framing modifications. Compliance certificate issued under AS/NZS 3500.

Stage 4 – Waterproofing. Membrane to all shower walls and floor, wall-to-floor junctions, bath hob, and any area within the splash zone, to AS 3740. Curing time observed before tiling.

For most Adelaide homes the live build takes 15-20 working days. Older inner-east homes with structural or pipework complications sometimes extend to 6 weeks.

How We Work

How a Renovation With Us Actually Feels

A bathroom renovation is a three-to-six-week relationship. Here’s how we run it so the weeks don’t get harder as they go.

Single point of contact. One project lead from first site visit through final handover. You don’t get passed between people or told to “call the tiler directly” when something shifts.

Weekly photo updates capture progress during stages that get covered up – rough-in, waterproofing – so you have a record of what’s behind every finished surface.

Our Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee covers every plumbing element we install. If something we did needs attention in year four or year fourteen, we come back.*Terms & conditions apply. Chat with a team member to discuss options.*

Our Services

Bathroom Renovation Services for Adelaide Homes

We offer three scopes of work. The right one depends on how much of the room is changing and who’s managing the broader project.

Full Bathroom Renovation. End-to-end design, demolition, first-fix, waterproofing, tiling, and fit-off. Project managed by our team, compliance certificates issued, single point of contact from first visit to final walk-through.

Partial Refresh. New vanity, tapware, toilet, or shower without a full strip-out. For bathrooms with good bones where a targeted upgrade makes more sense than a full reno.

Plumbing and Gas Only (Within Another Builder’s Reno). If you’re working with a different builder or designer who doesn’t do licensed plumbing in-house, we cover the plumbing and gas scope – rough-in, waterproofing coordination, fit-off, compliance certificates – so the licensed trade is held to AS/NZS 3500 and AS 3740 rather than subcontracted. Common Questions

Bathroom Renovation Questions Adelaide Neighbours Ask

Q: How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Adelaide?

A basic refresh (vanity, tapware, toilet, new fixtures) sits around $15,000-$20,000. A full mid-range renovation in an average bathroom runs $25,000-$35,000. Larger rooms, premium tapware, stonework, or major structural work push beyond $40,000. We quote fixtures and tiles at realistic prices up front rather than lowballing and invoicing for variations later. Call (08) 8152 9100 to book a free consultation and quote.

Most full renovations take 3-4 weeks on site. Older homes with structural, asbestos, or pipework complications sometimes extend to 5-6 weeks. The design and quote phase before site work typically takes 2-3 weeks on top of that. We give you a written timeline with the quote.

During a full renovation, no. Plan for the bathroom to be out of service for 3-4 weeks minimum. Most neighbours arrange temporary use of a laundry or guest bathroom, a portable toilet in the yard for larger jobs, or a short stay elsewhere for the wet-work weeks. We discuss options at the consultation.

Yes. All waterproofing meets AS 3740, the Australian Standard for waterproofing wet areas. All plumbing meets AS/NZS 3500. Our team holds Licence PGE #360928 and operates under the Office of the Technical Regulator. You receive compliance certificates for both the plumbing rough-in and the waterproofing on completion – those certificates travel with the property.

Our Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee covers all plumbing and gas work we install, for as long as you own the home. Waterproofing is covered for a minimum of 10 years. Tiles, cabinetry, and fixtures carry manufacturer warranties, which we pass through with the handover documentation.

We scope for older-home risks in the initial quote based on the housing era. If we genuinely find something unexpected during strip-out – rotted framing from a decades-old leak, undisclosed asbestos, or failed drain lines behind the walls that explain recurring blocked drains, blocked sink, or blocked toilet issues – we stop, document, and give you a written variation before any further work.

A bathroom strip-out is often the first time in decades anyone has seen the drainage beneath the room, and the right moment to fix anything that’s been failing silently. No surprise charges on the final invoice.

Yes. We’re partnered with Humm for flexible payment plans*, with no deposit and fast approval. Most Adelaide bathroom renovations fit within the Humm range. Our team walks you through the application when you book your consultation, so the finance is sorted before demolition starts.
