There's A Water Stain On My Downstairs Ceiling. Is It The Bathroom Above?
In a two-storey Brompton townhouse it very often is, although we prove it before anyone starts cutting. We run the upstairs shower, basin and toilet one at a time, check the waste and supply connections, take moisture readings across the ceiling and isolate each line until the source shows itself. Then you get a fixed price for the repair and, if you rent the place out, a written note you can pass to your agent.
Can You Clear A Drain At A Narrow-Lot Home With No Side Access?
Yes. A lot of Brompton’s older homes sit on very small, narrow lots with the house close to the street, so we plan the access before the repair. We look for an inspection opening at the front or inside, clear the line from there, and camera the pipe if the blockage keeps coming back.
